RAVEN IN THE GRAVE DOCUMENTARY TRAILER

We shot a short documentary while recording vocals in LA for Raven In The Grave. We will post the doc in its entirety very soon. We'll make 2 versions of it, a Danish one and an English one. Sharin is reading from her studio diary on top of various shots from the vocal session. It's very personal and brutally honest. Beware this trailer doesn't include sound - Sune

SHOW MUST GO ON

This past week has been a rather dramatic and tumultuous week with Sune ending up in the hospital. First off waiting for the diagnosis which is where you drive yourself crazy with all the fear, anxiety and various obsessive thoughts of terminal diseases. Then there's the aftermath of dealing with the reality of things.

Albeit, we have decided that the shows must go on and that there is always a solution. We have been here before back in 2008 when I was ordered to stay horizontal for 5 months. And this time it's Sune who has to rest and heal. I will go to Europe and spread our Rave gospel. I'm terrified and overwhelmed by the task of playing without Sune, but also encouraged and motivated by the challenge. Needless to say it will be a deconstructed Raveonettes. I will have my two danish knights by my side and we will give you all we've got.

See you out there.

PINK DUCK STUDIO

Sharin and I on the porch of Pink Duck Studio in LA, which is owned by Josh Homme. We did vocals for Raven In The Grave there and I love the place. This porch was a great place to unwind, drink a beer and smoke a cig. Good times indeed.  - Sune

HERNIATED DISC

On Wednesday August 3rd, on my way home from my chiropractor, I suddenly felt unimaginable pain in my lower back and short bursts of intense pain shooting down both legs. I pulled over on the West Side Highway to catch a break hoping the agony would slowly fade away. On the contrary. After 30 minutes of waiting I had no other choice than to call 911. I was rushed to the ER and given Valium and Percocet which did absolutely nothing. After several hours of sweating and moaning a nurse finally gave me Morphine which again did nothing. I was admitted for pain control and ended up staying 4 days at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan. An MRI scan revealed a herniated disc which is a severe condition. Several different pain killers, muscle relaxers and what have you was then given to me every day till I was finally able to walk a bit on my own. I was released yesterday but the problem is far from over. I'm now going into intense physical therapy for at least 6 weeks meaning I have to cancel my participation in the European festival run. This is such a major bummer cause I was looking forward to going places I've never been before like Croatia and Romania. The shows I won't be playing are Terraneo Festival in Croatia, Stirbey Festival in Romania, For Noise Festival in Switzerland and Pukkelpop in Belgium. It's so fucked! We haven't cancelled the shows yet cause we're trying to see if Sharin, Adrian and Silas can pull it off as a trio. Pretty crazy stuff!!! I'll keep you posted...

Thanks Hardeep for taking care of me in the hospital, you're a true friend. Cheers mate!

PRODUCING

Richard Gottehrer is a unique individual. He wrote classic songs such as "I Want Candy", "My Boyfriend's Back", "Nighttime", "Hang On Sloopy", "Sorrow", etc. He was a member of The Strangeloves and he co-founded Sire Records with Seymour Stein in 1966 and released such amazing acts like The Ramones, Talking Heads, Madonna, etc...

He's also a brilliant producer(Blondie, The Go-Go's, etc) and we've had the opportunity of working with him on "Chain Gang Of Love" and "Pretty In Black" but really, he's always been there for us and we consider him a great friend and mentor. In fact I'm going to Nyack, NY to housesit while him and his lovely wife Anita are outta town for a while. I always find their Nyack home incredibly inspiring and I'm planning on writing a bunch of new tunes...

Anyhoo, here's a few pics of Richard and I from when we produced the new Dum Dum Girls album in LA recently. The album is called "Only In Dreams" and will be out September 27. It's terrific!!

Listen to the hauntingly beautiful song "Coming Down" here.

MICK ROCK

Mick Rock is an amazing photographer. You might not be familiar with his name but you definitely know his work  http://www.apple.com/uk/pro/profiles/rock/

He shot us for Playboy some years back. He chained us to a chair and verbally abused me for 30 minutes, "c'mon you fucking faggot, give it to me!!!", I found it highly entertaining and slightly scary.

He recently repaid me by this stunning portrait of Debbie Harry...Thanks Mick - Sune

BEEKMAN BEER GARDEN

We played a wicked show yesterday at Beekman Beer Garden in NYC. This is the view from stage when I looked to the left...Not too shabby at all! - Sune
